Excessive Mucus with Esophageal Cancer
Does anyone suffer from excessive mucus after eating or drinking. I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer one year ago. I started off with chemo, which did nothing and was switched to Keytruda every 3 weeks which has worked wonders. I am still stage 4 though. I was told that what I have is treatable, but not curable. I guess I can live with that. I have this excessive amount of mucus when I eat or drink. Does anyone else have this, and if you do, how do you deal with it?

Thank you for answering. The treatment is for managing pain not managing the cancer itself. I'm sorry you're not pain free.
My wife just completed radiation treatments, five plus weeks of hope for some kind of control. Only to be shattered by her radiation doctor saying it probably didn't work because she'll still have cancer cells in other other parts of her body that are going to Pop up else where.
She's been going through hell with these treatments hoping for some kind of life/control only to be told it doesn't matter. Now wants to eat a bullet. He could of just said, let's wait 5 weeks after the treatment to see what effects it had and leave it at that.

I've been diagnosed stage 4 EC as my EC spread to my gluteus maximus. The Dr's prescribed me with a 3 day Fetenyl slow release patch and a 10mg fast release oxicodone. These don't totally relieve the pain, but they help. I'm not sure if this is what they were prescribing or not? Good luck and let me know if I answer any other questions.
Stage 4 EC, treatable but not curable? How's that possible. My wife has stage four also. Has done chemo and radiation but they never have mentioned treatable.
She is also always coughing up phlegm. The latest tried is the patch they used for sea sickness. Unfortunately it gives her a headache.
Hoping for control in Wyoming
I had esophagectomy seven years ago after I had radiation and chemo. I think I only had a stage two but I've always had a lot of phlegm.
Did the excessive mucous disappear or lessen eventually ? I'm trying to establish if this could be a reaction to an oesophegal stent
Esophagus stomach cancer, mucus choking me, eating drinking, lying down. Chemo has caused additional problems pul embolism, shingles outbreaks, lost down to 98lbs from 135. Being pushed to drink ensure for weight gain . What can I take for get rid of mucus. Also not a surgery candidate
