Evenity Injection in thigh
Hello, I have been getting Evenity injections now alternating one in arm, one in thigh. Each time, I get redness, swelling and heat for about a week. Last time, #7, I developed a red patch about 4X4 on my thigh that lasted about 10 days. My endo said to try stomach, but I read that the thigh absorbs more slowly, which I think is best for me, as I have RA and slower seems better for joint reactions. Have others had this reaction? And, what do you think about thigh vs stomach? Thank you.

My first set of injections in my arms were OK, just very painful and then flu like symptoms 2 days later. The second set I had in my abdomen, and I had bruising the size of a quarter, a rash, heaviness, pain and itchiness for 3 weeks. My rheumatologist then recommended that I take zyrtec and tylenol 30" before the 3rd set. Got those in my arms and no problem except for the flu like symptoms 2 days later. With the 4th set, in my arms, I had a pretty bad reaction. I had a raised red patch (size of half a dollar) with a rash around those for 2 weeks. A lot of itchiness. Had my annual dermatology appointment and was prescribed clobetasol propionate cream which resolved the issue within 3 days. However, I was told that it was an injection site reaction but was warned that it could get worse and to watch out for the overall allergic reaction. I don't think I'll try thigh and I won't do abdomen again due to the pain and heaviness for 3 weeks. My rheumatologist indicated we will see what happens next time and I might have to change my treatment to a different medication.
