Evenity and insurance coverage
When I received a treatment plan for my osteoporosis (-3.9 T score) I was offered Evenity or Foreteo or Tymlos. For those with Medicare Part B and a supplement (I have F) Evenity is covered 100% (80% medicare, 20% supplement) so the cost is $ 0 to patient. It may be different if you have a supplement other than F. This is because it is an injection given in the doctor's office once a month for 12 months. The other two Forteo and Tymlos are injections given at home and not covered by B but maybe covered by Part D (I don't know that much about it except my Part D did not cover it). That was the main reason I went with Evenity (and I have no heart issues, etc.). So just wanted to let people know about the coverage as when you first get diagnosed and start looking into it, it is overwhelming and hard to process all of it. I had a hard time processing taking a med for such a long time and I had to get over that hurdle first, then deal with the insurance which can be tricky.
