Has anyone that has been on Evenity had to have dental work done ?

I had wisdom tooth pulled.
Dr had me wait 8 weeks off evenity before extraction.
Then after wait a month before starting next injection. No problems and healed well. Dentist had me take antibiotics afterwards.

I am also interested in hearing from Evenity patients who have had to have dental work done during their course of therapy. I am halfway through (6 treatments) and have been diagnosed with an infected wisdom tooth. My dentist has referred me to an oral surgeon to either have an extraction or a root canal. I have read that extractions should be avoided but am not sure I have other options. I see from the post above that the patient's Dr. stopped the Evenity injections for 2 months prior to the extraction and for one month afterwards and then resumed Evenity therapy. Has anyone else experienced delays or changes in the dosing schedule like this? I would be interested to hear from others about their physicians response and their dosing recommendations.

Thank you for your reply. Did you take a time out from the Evenity before or after the dental work? Or did you continue the Evenity uninterrupted?

What do you mean by "resorption" of one of your teeth?

Resorption is where the tooth has bone lost to either the outside or internal of the tooth . Mine was external this time . I have had internal and had to have the tooth removed and an implant was put in . Of course the internal one was done years ago and I wasn’t on any osteoporosis meds .

I am on month 9 this month and will need to decide what to do regarding next meds. But for now I have a dental issue - need 2 teeth removed. I have one with resorption that needs to be removed and one that has decay under the crown.
The resorption is in the internal root. Did you get an explanation of why this happens. I have read that it can be part of an autoimmune response.
Please let me know. Having a consult with the oral surgeon tomorrow.

The first resorption I had was internal and needed to be pulled and I had an implant put in but this was way before starting any bone meds. There are so many possibilities why this happens such as trauma, braces where the teeth move too fast as a teenager. No one really knows why. Last year I had an external resorption and was able to save the tooth so far. It’s still sensitive.
They also couldn’t give a reason. They did say she had just treated a young person that had 2 teeth with resorption next to each other. It’s frustrating for sure.

My dentist told me that I need to have a crown replaced. I have had 7 Evenity injections. I know that you're not supposed to have major dental work (like a tooth extraction) done while taking Evenity. Is replacing a crown considered major dental work?
