What can I expect at my Mayo beast cancer evaluation appointment?
I was sent to Mayo by my Dr. because of suspicious mammogram and ultrasound I was told birad 3 with long family history of cancer. What can I expect on this appointment. I just want answers so I know one way or another so I can start fighting.

Which Mayo Clinic? I go to Rochester. Did your doctor refer you to the Breast Clinic first? My journey is likely different. I had a screening mammogram at Mayo which picked up my suspicious lesion. Diagnostic mammo and US gave me a BiRads 5 so immediate biopsy the next day. The report came back the following day with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and I was referred to the amazing Breast Clinic. I first saw a nurse, then an internist who is my quarterback, and a patient educator. Lots of education, from the doctor as well! I was then sent to the surgeon.
We were able to coordinate this with some of my husband’s appointments or it might have gone even faster. Surgery was 5 weeks after diagnosis.

Hello, I'm going to Jacksonville. Yes my Dr referred me to Mayo after a suspicious mammogram and ultrasound. Plus I have a family history of BC.
I'm anxious and nervous about the tests. Most of all just ready to know one way or another.
