Eternal Liquid diet.

I'm 90 and have tried many laxatives with no success. Is there an elderly person out there that has had to maintain a liquid (soft) diet for many years to prevent constipation? I think that's what I'm faced with.

There are different causes for constipation thus different types of laxatives depending on the cause. What works for one may not work for another because cause may be different.
Laxatives bulk the stool.
There are softners
And Linsess for IBS
Also medications that work on bowel muscle which happens with age.
I hope you have a good gastroenterologists that will find the cause and treat accordingly. Sounds like you've tried many things. Talk to your Dr about the medications that will move the bowel muscle. Don't give up to a liquid diet. Best wishes.

Thanks for the response.
A good gastro guy is hard to find around here. Have gone through 3 so far. Real Naf.
My diet is actually a soft diet with a lot of water derived from the "Cleveland Clinic Diet for Gastroparesis."
