Enhertu: How are you coping?

Posted by margitdill @margitdill, 5 days ago

I have been put on Enhertu for stage 4 cervical cancer. The first cycle I was given the full dose. I was so sick with weakness, extreme fatigue, queasiness, chills, sleepiness, etc. J did not feel that I could tolerate it. This misery lasted about 12 days. After reporting these issues to my oncologist, he suggested that I go on a lower dose which I did the second cycle. The after effects were much less extreme, so that was a good decision. Enhertu is the last drug to be tried - which is scary. I do not know what is next. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Next up is a CT scan every 6 weeks, along with ech cardiogram and ecgs. Blood work is every 3 weeks, Infusions every 3 weeks. My doctor tells me that treatment will continue this way until it shows it's not working anymore -- which means the cancer is growing again.

I've been on ehertu for 30 weeks now. Just received my 10th infusion. Ehhurtu is doing its job: CT scans showed a 58% reduction in tumor sizes, resolved pulmonary nodules, all other lesions stabilized, and no new ones present.
What's next? My oncologist says that immuno-therapy might help boost my immunity, to keep the cancer in-check.
My diagnosis is incurable, serous cell high grade, but I would say it is manageable, at this point and hopefully into the far future.

Good Morning...My diagnosis sounds like it is veery similar to yours. I was diagnosed with a uterine serous cell carcinoma..agressive and rare, manageable not curable. it has recurred twice since my initial disnosis of stage 1A uterine cancer. I started treatment with enhertu in May of 2025. I have had 5 treatments , one every three weeks. My CA 125 has gone from 77 to 15 and my most recent PET scan, last Tuesday showed no evidence of disease. Thankfully the treatment is working...I was told that it will continue as maintenance and praying that the cancer does not return. I don't know what would come after Enhertu, but my oncologist has assured me that there are other treatments that are extremely effective in the treatment of my kind of cancer.

Yes. Mainly GI side fx - major constipation and nausea. the nausea is managed with anti-nausea meds., but the constipation has been a struggle.

Yes same here..I’m trying ginger in addition to prescription anti nausea medication. For constipation Ducolax pills and suppositories have worked.
