Elevated Blood Calcium on Tymlos?
Has anyone experienced elevated blood calcium during tymlos treatment? I’m on Tymlos 7 months and my levels just crossed over to elevated level. My endo says she stops Tymlos when level gets to 11. I Welcome anyone’s experience? Is there anything to do while on Tymlos to reduce level other than reducing foods and drinks with calcium? Thanks!

Elevated calcium is a known side effect. Mine was low 9's, then inched up to 10, and then it backed off a bit when I cut down on calcium supplements and started getting more calcium from food. It is still in the 9's which is fine.
Are you taking vitamins D3 and K2? D3 helps direct calcium to your bones, and K2 helps your body absorb D3.
Thanks for sharing.
Mine went to 10.8!
I do take D3and K2. I take 5000D to keep my Dlevel at 45 since the Tymlos eats up D. Anything lower and my D dropped to mid20s.
Endo suggested to drop to 12oz of fortified almond milk daily and No other calcium sources.
My calcium level was too high just before starting Tymlos. I quickly dropped it to normal by stopping the 2 c per day of fortified almond milk, which was the only calcium supplement I was taking. Will get tested again 1 month after starting Tymlos. My doctor wants me to aim for 500 to 700 per day of calcium from food sources.
Thank you for sharing. Would you mind letting me know the levels before and after you changed the almond milk intake? I also reduced calcium rich foods such as sardines and salmon until I retest in a month. Instead of almond milk I have just switched to making my own hempseed milk which is surprisingly delicious and a little lower in calcium and high in protein and fiber. Good Luck in your Tymlos journey!
It was 10.9 and then down to 9.7 when I stopped the fortified almond milk
My calcium levels were too high and if I recall it is because I was taking too much vitamin D.
Thank you for this. That is so interesting to learn. My endo specifically said not to reduce my D (5000 IU) to keep my level at 45. I guess everyone is different and the doctors do their best to sort it out. I have reduced my fortified almond milk and started making my own hemp milk which is delicious and has lots of protein and about half the amount of calcium. I will post my new labs when I am retesting in 3 weeks.
Re: Vitamin D - I was on much more than 5,000 + multivitamin. They urgently told me to reduce to 4,000. IU. Everyone is different! I mentioned it because no one else did.
