Effect of clonazepam on nuclear gi transit scan?
Due to complications or potential dangerous effects of abrubtly ceasing use of clonazepam I was curious if continuing use would effect a Nuclear GI Transit scan to a degree in which the test would be invalid?

Hi @eedgerton03 It’s understandable to be concerned about having to abruptly stop taking clonazepam. That’s not a medication to be halted cold turkey.
From my understanding, some medications may interfere with gut motility. Whether or not your dosage of clonazepam will impact the results of your GI transit scan would be a question for the doctor who ordered your test.
Were you told to avoid the medication for a lengthy period of time before the scan?
