Dyspepsia after H Pylori eradication
I finally got answers as to why I have had acid reflux for over a year since my H Pylori infection and treatment. It is not uncommon at all.
My (new) GI explained that after H. pylori eradication treatment, your stomach goes into overdrive over producing acid. Since my H Pylori was not diagnosed for 5 months it had time to create extra problems as well.
After many trials and errors (that did not work-Omeprazole, Nexium, gluten free, dairy free,… )
I am now on pantoprazole/twice a day for a month then once per day for a month tapering further after that. I have also been on a plant-based diet for 3 weeks (committing to try for 3 months).
I already felt better four days after beginning the plant-based diet and I hadn't even started the medication yet.
I am now three weeks into plant-based and three days into the medication and I finally have relief after over a year of suffering. I haven't taken Gaviscon or Tums for a week, which is a huge improvement for me.
I will keep you posted on my journey but am optimistic!

Hi what might your plant based diet contain, spouse stomach pain etc. And also adult daughter so thught I could suggest it to them.... would this exclude spices ?
I am trying no meat, no dairy, no eggs. Eating fruits, vegetables, lots of new grains (amaranth, farro, quinoa, etc) beans, tofu, tempeh... I am limiting onion, garlic, and chili spices. It is not easy but we are getting creative-just takes meal prep at the beginning of the week. Lots of bowls for dinner. Still eating whole grain and sourdough breads and tortillas. No deep fried foods. I miss my Greek yogurt and eggs so eventually may try adding them back in and see what happens.
It has helped so far. Good luck
