Duodenitis
Hello all. Results of my EGD found "Mild Focal Chronic Peptic Duodenitis." Any idea what this mouthful means? Went in for testing after weeks of mild upper abdominal and back pain, excessive burping.

Hello @mkl8425
I went to the Mayo Clinic website and found Peptic Duodenitis listed under the reasons for abdominal pain, if you click on this link, you can read more about it,
https://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/abdominal-pain/basics/causes/sym-20050728
The fact that the EGD said it was "mild" sounds good.
Is abdominal pain the reason you had the EGD? Any other symptoms that resulted in your doctor's decision to do the EGD? Did the doctor prescribe any meds or dietary suggestions as a result of this diagnosis. If not, you might give his office a call and see what they have to say.
Will you post again and let me know how you are doing?
Hello Teresa, hope you're well, new to this connection. want to ask what food or diet to eat with duodenitis? gastritis? pancreatitis?
Hello @sub12 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm glad that you found this online patient support group. As you probably know, on Connect we are not medical professionals but patients, like yourself, who support and encourage each other.
You asked about a diet for duodenitis, gastritis, and pancreatitis. Are these problems that you are dealing with right now? If so, how long have you had these diagnoses?
If so, it would be best to talk with your physician regarding a referral to a registered dietician who can help you plan foods that would be best for your situation.
