Dry Eyes & Dry Mouth (Tymlos)

Posted by CathyF31 @cathyf31, 6 days ago

Now that I'm 2/3 of the way through my 5th Tymlos pen, I noticed that I'm waking up frequently with mild-to-moderately dry eyes & mouth. These are both unusual for me. Has anyone else experienced this while on Tymlos? If so, did it resolve once you completed your Tymlos regimen?

I did too but really don’t know if it is related. We become sensitive to every change suspecting it’s the Tymlos or whatever we are newly prescribed…
I use Systane eye drops and add Bausch and Lomb eye drops more often as needed. Took a few days but my eyes are much better. The eye doctor suggested Fish oil 1000mg. Check with you doctor.

This is one of those questions that is hard for me to answer. I suffer from dry eyes any ways and now that I am on Tymlos, it continues but MAY be a little worse...either from the Tymlos OR my condition is just getting worse. I HAVE noticed a more dry mouth but again...is it Tymlos or just breathing through my mouth when I sleep OR just the dry, hot weather and being in A/C all day??? Who's to know? 🙂

@jbcat26 Definitely new to me for the past two weeks. Odd that I've also had a resurgence of my welts and hives at the injection sites. The dry eyes and mouth can just take a number and go to the end of the line! 🤣

@osteopatient2026 It makes no sense not starting until I'm into my 5th month of treatment. Then again, my hives and welts at every injection site did not start until my 24th injection. Delayed responses don't make it easy to connect the dots. Changes are the white flags.

When dry mouth happens, it is a good idea to not only keep your teeth very clean with flossing and brushing before bed, but also rinse with Biotene mouthwash. Dry mouth can lead to lots of decayed teeth. I use it once before bed and then rinse again in the night if I get up to pee. For my dry eyes, I use Baush & Lomb Muro 128 in my eyes at night and take fish oil 2000mg as a supplement. This stuff with bones is not fun and I'm sorry we need to go thru it. Best - Gracie
