Does Urolift correlate to Prostate Cancer?
Back in 2018 my urologist recommended I have the Urolift procedure to help with my slow urination. It was an utter failure in solving my issue. Four years later I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I luckily caught it very early, but it was bad enough (Gleason 4+3=7) that I had to deal with it instead of waiting and watching. Are there any studies underway to see if other men developed prostate cancer after having the Urolift?

Same question! 2018 for Urolift as well. No diagnoses of PC…yet. But PSA went from a routine .4 over my life to to 5.9 last fall, then down to 1.3.
I asked Urologist the same question and he said no, but if I learned anything from C19 and 2020, it’s question everything.
I had the UroLift procedure a few years prior to my PC diagnosis.
Whether there is a connection between the two is anybody’s guess.
I had a Urolift implant performed in 3/2019 with modest improvement in symptoms. The urologist who implanted it did a great job and said I would likely get 5 years service life from it. It lasted only 2-1/2 years and had to have it removed and I had a TURP performed by anther urologist which worked great ever since. The TURP also dropped my PSA from 4.5 to 1.7. A Urolift implant can initially cause inflammation for man months which can falsely spike the PSA.
There is no peer reviewed research showing a correlation of a Urolift causing PC. It is likely coincidental.
Had the UroLift last October and initially experienced minimal improvement. Now, after 9 months I am back to pre urolift level and expect to have TURP in October since unable to completely empty bladder.
This is interesting topic and I never heard of UroLoft so I decided to inform myself about it.
Since the question intrigued me, the first thing that I explored was a type of material used for manufacturing this device. Well, I was shocked when I saw that strands are made of polyethylene terephthalate (plastic that can decompose to microplastics particles and is manufactured using toxic solvents as most plastics are) WHY ??? I can not believe that there is no other and/or more bio-compatible material available ?! There is also a nickel/steel alloy in one of the anchors - why nickel ?
IMHO this is very concerning.
