Does this mean I have STAGE 4 Metastic Breast Cancer?

Posted by missbashful @missbashful, Dec 3, 2022

Yesterday, I had an ultra-sound and mammogram done. On Monday, I have to do the biopsy part. My radiologist really didn't go over anything yesterday.

Impression:

Findings are highly suspicious for invasive malignancy of the right breast with metastatic axillary adenopathy. The dominant mass involves the overlying skin. Diffuse right-sided skin thickening suggests invasion of the dermal lympathics.

Your work-up here today was concerning for metastic breast cancer which is new onset.

Please let us know what the biopsy shows and what the doc tells you. Sorry you are dealing with this!

I know from my own experience that waiting for results is extremely hard and frustrating. I just want you to know that you are not alone and I will be thinking of you as you wait for answers. Try to stay in the moment. Outcomes can be anything but there are lots of resources for whatever your outcome is. You are not alone!

I guess I was lucky the radiologist that was called into see my ultrasound and mamogram results told me right then and there that
My cancer had returned. He could not tell me anything g more than that. I really didn’t know that it was metastatic breast cancer until after the PET scan. I think the key here for you is he said the word EARLY. There are so many treatments out there right now that are so effective when it is caught early. I was where you are in September this year. So I completely understand the thoughts that are going thru your head. Sometimes just not having the whole picture is torture. You will get thru this and once you know you will get a plan. Until then, try by to focus on today and live like this is going to be the best day ever. It helps just doing one day at a time. All of us are here if you need us. This sight helps me so very much.
