Does anyone take Ibandronate for osteoporosis

Posted by jm7 @jm7, Sep 10 10:16am

After a compression fracture in my spine and subsequent kyphoplasty my GP put me on Ibandronate once a month . I see no mention of that medication in any of these posts. Is anyone taking it? Pros/cons?

No I don't have and endocrinologist. Is that necessary ??

Not necessary but it might be helpful to find out if you have one near you that has particular expertise in osteoporosis and the current thinking about osteoporosis, drugs available and the sequencing that may work best for you
I am assuming.. perhaps mistakenly..that you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and have had a dexa scan. There is lots of wisdom here. Arm yourself with the best information would be helpful. Get started researching and having a mindset of self advocacy is important.

Yes osteoporosis. A year before the fracture I was on prolia. Dexa was 2.5. He said I should fill prescription for ibandronate ( Boniva). I didn’t and 6 months later …
