Docs/experts for shoes and braces for neuropathy?
I have had neuropathy for several years and for the most part, it has been manageable. Recently, however, it has gotten worse and is moving up into my ankles. This has resulted in the feeling less stable and more likely to fall. Are there doctors, podiatrists, or others that can offer expert consultation regarding shoes and or ankle braces for stability? Thank you.

Have you been to a podiatrist or only a neurologist? You may want to see a podiatrist to see if orthotics would be helpful to you and if they have any suggestions for supports (medical equipment/braces) or recommendations for shoes.

I encourage you to find exercises to strengthen your ankles and feet.
Be careful with some strengthening exercises. I did leg lunges yesterday with three pound weights in each hand. I did about 3 sets of eight. Now today I am not so comfortable. Physical therapists can help us achieve our goals in a safe way. Also, I am wearing a compression sock today and it offers a modicum of comfort.
