Do Pluvicto patients live like those in the TV ad
I'm a current Pluvicto patient who has been through Taxotere, 2 radiation sessions under a Varian Trubeam and have now had 2 of the 6 dose injections of Pluvicto. I see all the Pluvicto ads on golf and football broadcasts with all the "patients" looking and acting like they are top of the world. Yes, I know there is a proviso in the first few seconds of the ad that the people in the ad are actors. Still I would like to hope that there really is a world where patients who've been through all like me can truly be "normal." Ain't no way I'm even close to being that active. Can others hop in to let me know it is achievable?

Funny you should ask. They paid me to review their ads. You really have to concentrate on every little thing in the ad because what they’re saying and what is written may be two different things, And they move quickly,. I really had to study Every image in the ads when they would have a review session with me. The people in the ads definitely look like they’ve either not have anything done yet or are all done and it worked well. They’re just trying to represent the type of people it works for.
The side effects during pluvicto treatment can be pretty debilitating for some people. Someone at a recent Ancan.com Advanced prostate cancer meeting was talking about the fact that they had some really great results on the PSMA PET scan, but they couldn’t have any more treatments for a while because the side effects were just too much after 3 treatments. Other people have a lot of fatigue that hits after a day or two after, and you get over it a few days before you get the next treatment.
Be aware that Pluvicto works really well for 33% of people OK for 33% of people and not at all for 33% of people.
If you have certain genetic issues, either hereditary or somatic, it can affect how well Pluvicto Works. You can ask for a somatic test before doing Pluvicto To find out if you’ve got Genetic changes Due to the cancer.
If you have BRCA or ATM It seems to work better. If you have RB1, PTEN or TP53 They are Pluvicto resistant. I don’t know if these are the only genetic changes that cause Pluvicto to work much better or more poorly.
Yep so right you are: lots of tv ads are STAGED, like for Ozempic.: I lowered my A1c , lost some weight too: how phony or stupid do you think I am? Lol. Keytruda is another BS session on tv. Period.
Does Ozempic help with the side effects of Pluvicto? Confused here.
I think its a side bar on TV ads and meds...
Oh, no, we were just discussing Ozempic commercial and other commercials as a side note.
Thank you. Too bad it's not!
Hello @surftohealth88, @dpfbanks and @dedehans,
I moved some of the comments on Ozempic to a discussion titled:
"What's your experience with Ozempic or Sandexa for weight loss?"
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/ozempicsaxenda/.
That discussion is a bit more focused on what the side effects and efficacy are of medications and weight loss like Ozempic. Not realizing the comments were meant more as a commentary on commercials, I may have moved them with haste. Perhaps we can revisit @soflada and their original question of whether or not people are taking Pluvicto and returning to being active after treatment? @jeffmarc, you gave an interesting perspective on Pluvicto, did you previously take the medication as well or just give your thoughts on the commercial you were paid to review?
@smc24 and @michaelbryan6998 have both started or been on Pluvicto and may be able to share a bit of an update with how they are progressing as well.
I am not on Pluvicto (nor Ozempic) but asking for a friend with stageIV Gleason9 Prostate cancer. It may be an option for him and looking to know about it. Thanks all!
Everybody is welcome here with any question < 3 ! This forum has many members with every stage of PC and you will find a LOT of information. You can start a new thread with particular question also and many members with stage IV and gleason 9 will be happy to help 🙂 .
I have not had Pluvicto But I attend seven advanced prostate cancer online meetings every month. I am regularly hearing about people‘s reactions to Pluvicto.
