Diverticulitis abcess since January

Diverticulitis Jan. Very sick with fever etc. stated on Flagle and Cipro for two weeks. Felt much better. Follow cr scan two mo the later showed access still there but 3 cm. Started 3 weeks augmentin. Repeat cr scan. Abcess still there same size. Sent to surgeon who said she wouldn’t touch it. Too small and I should give it some time to heal. Does t sound right to me

Hi, @joecv5, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. So glad to hear the medications you were given when very sick with a fever were effective in making you feel better.

You mentioned the surgeon's telling you she would not touch your abscess doesn't sound right to you. Are you planning to seek another opinion from a different surgeon, or what are you thinking of doing next?
