I mostly walk for exercise. I practiced restorative yoga almost every day which was mostly stretching but tore a hamstring in the fall so I stopped. I am going to start doing that again so we will see how it goes.
I mentioned the pain to my doctor at my 4 week check up and she thinks it’s pain from the stitches or from the incision itself. She said I was probably the thinnest person she’d done the surgery on so I guess that made a difference in sewing me back up. The extra thinness was because of the frequency of my episodes and lack of appetite, not to mention all the liquid dieting. I am not scheduled to see her again until July but will go before then if the pain persists. It is a come and go thing so I’m trying to figure out what might be triggering it.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. It helps.
I did order a posture corrector because I was slouching so much after surgery.
I would wear in the mornings and seemed to help with side and back discomfort.
I still have discomfort on side sometimes but, not pain.
My first nut was not until 8mths! I had 2 almonds. LOL But, I still do not eat a lot of them. Some sunflower seeds, sliced almonds in my granola I put in yogurt.
I still sill does not eat much of them.
I had more discomfort than pain. You should check with the Dr. on the pain.
Are you able to exercise and stretch? I also, swim that had help too.
I have an infrared dry sauna, and it help tremendously with relaxing and mental.

Thank you for sharing that. I am 3 months out and my surgeon told me the same thing but I have been avoiding nuts, popcorn and seeds out of fear. Like you, I have been avoiding them for so long now.
I do still have occasional pain on my left side near the incision that worries me a little. Some days it’s worse than others. Did you or did anyone else have this issue after their resection surgery? I’m just wondering how long does the healing process take. I am definitely better than I was before surgery!

I had eliminated popcorn years ago. It has now been over 1 year since my Colon Resection and I tried eating some a couple times last month.
No issues whatsoever.
It is crazy all the stuff I eliminated through the years.
After the surgery you ask what can I eat now? And I was told by my colon surgeon anything. They were right.
Before the surgery, remember asking my GI Dr. telling me at some point it will not matter what you eliminate anymore the damage is done. And he was right too.

I am 76, had a one tome acute pancreatitis attack in 2013,then a week ago, off to ER , insane pain, after MRCP, Hida, labs diagnosis of 6mm gallstone, but after 2 days, npo, pain and nausea gone, enzymes trending down, i opted not to do surgery as i have major issues with anesthesia..found out i cannot tolerate Propofol and now with oral surgery pending im afraid that anesthesia will trigger my gallbladder ! ) was told the pancreatitis was triggered by the Propofol high fat content!!
Yikes!! Any advice?
The information out there is misleading to say the least. I’m confused about the popcorn thing as well. I don’t have problems when I eat it. It seems to be coffee and carbonated drinks

Good luck with that. Milk & cream can be problematic. You’ll know it when it happens - but 2 attacks in one month sounds like it never really went away and you need to tighten up your diet for longer.
You might want to add chocolate to that list. Also consider cutting out heavily (greasy) fried food and very rich desserts. I’m convinced I was once felled by a gigantic ice cream cone!
dpaul6576 - how did it go with the butter pecan ice cream?
I hope it goes away.

Please take the full 10 days of antibiotics. I have an ileostomy and it is no fun.
