Discomfort and pain for years after cecopexy

About six years ago I was in the emergency room with appendicitis which was missed by the emergency room doctor and I was sent home. Nine days later I was back in the hospital with an abscess from the burst appendix for three days. Since that time I've had six more days in the hospital for a bowel blockage from scar tissue which required another surgery, and finally a third surgery about two years ago to clear up the rest of the original infection which had formed another abscess. It's been a mess. After this last surgery for the infection, I was informed that my surgeon had also performed a cecopexy due to my having a redundant colon. It was the first time I had heard about cecopexy - or redundant colons. Since then, I have had pain and discomfort almost everyday. It feels like something is constantly swollen and sore on my lower right side. At times there are sharp jabs of pain and cramps. I've gone back twice to the surgeon and he tells me everything is functioning as it should. My digestion seems to be fine, but I'm constantly in discomfort or pain. I now take pain killers everyday.
Has anyone else had issues with cecopexy? It's now been over two years since that last surgery, I'm not sure whether I should accept this as my new normal. I have debated getting a second opinion but dread facing more tests and possibly another surgery.
