Diet with anastrozole
Hello. I have been taking anastrozole for a few weeks now. I'm noticing that I get some stomach aches and cramping. I was wondering if anyone found foods or drinks that they needed to avoid while on it. Thank you.

Hello,
I take it a couple of hours after dinner and have not noticed any stomach aches. Mine has been 10 months though.
I hope your discomfort goes away soon.
Thank you for that report.
I’m beginning month 8. I take Anastrozole just after dinner with no stomach discomfort. Hope you get relief as time goes on. But check in with prescribing doc or oncologist. There are other AIs that may be better suited to you. Best 🌸
Thank you.
I take anastrozole before bed. Usually, I have not eaten for 3-4 hours before. Noticed that certain foods, fried, ultra processed, tortilla chips, chips, which I do not eat often any way, were not agreeing with me anymore. Also noticed when I eat that type of food I have the hot flashes at night. Switched 95% of the time to the Mediterranean diet, and limit bread/flour products. So, far that is working very well. I do not want the stiffness so I have been walking, using recumbent bike, doing strength training at the gym to keep my bones in good shape as well. I take vitamin supplements as well. multi-vitamin, D, calcium, magnesium, collagen, turmeric, and joint support, omega 3s+. In my crazy life I have been putting me first instead of everything else. I still go to work full time and take care of my house, but I put me before the house now and everything else. Hope this helps.
Welcome to connect, I am so happy to hear you are putting you and your health ahead of less important things (dust bunnies😂).
I also found this to be true with Greasy, friend or ultra processed foods. I would get the sour stomach every time.
It sounds like you are on a path to reducing your cancer relapse risk. The walking really, really helped me.
How long have you been taking it?
