Diastasis reci after having 4 laparoscopic procedures
Good morning,
I'm an 85-year young male who has undergone 4 procedures that required at least 15 individual pierces into my stomach during 4 procedures that has subsequently resulted in an extended abdomen. (16 is you count my belly buttonhole). Recently I have developed a extended area in my mid stomach left of my belly button. The area is about the shape and size of a hot dog bun. I'm wondering if I have Diastasis reci and if there is any suggestions as to how I should proceed. I still exercise daily for at least a half hour.

Good morning Ludwig, I had a similar bulge that turned out to be an inguinal hernia. Mayo Clinic has some information here - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/inguinal-hernia/symptoms-causes/syc-20351547.
Have you discussed the bulge with your doctor? Do you have any pain in the area?
Thanks for the input. I do not have any symptoms described in the Mayo report. Must be something else.
I wasn't familiar with Diastasis Recti but it does sound that is a good possibility. I searched Connect and didn't see any other members who have discussed it. I did find some information that might be helpful.
