Diagnosis: Epithelial metaplasia in the esophagus

Has anyone been diagnosed with epithelial metaplasia of the esophagus? I'm a Mayo Patient and all was/will be done with them.
After a January 2025 EGD showed a fungus in the esophagus and was treated, the pains coninued mid chest, swallow issues, more.
November 2025 EGD took biopsies and the diagnosis is Epithelial metaplasia in the esophagus, a rare condition. I had a consult with GI in January 2026 and am now scheduled the end of March for a more intense EGD with blue light to spot other issues and permit more targeted bipsies.
If you have this or have heard of this, I welcome your input. Thank you.

I have all these symptoms like you stated don’t have a concrete diagnosis yet I had a monometry test but couldn’t complete due to really bad nose bleed I’ve had an endo flip
Done shows ahashia being referred to a Gi surgeon let me know how you are doing I’ve been trying to find answers for 2 yrs now

@judal43 Thank you and best on getting more answers. Hope you'll be able to get a test to get more information soon.
I will post after I meet to get my results in early April.
My issue seemed to get attention after the upper GI in January 2025. When the pain continued, the second upper GI in November showed more.
