Yes, I have some dizziness and burning around my waist which is SFN I think as diagnoses with it by a biopsy. has really taken over my life. Tryin to make it to my 81st birthday but in such pain and mental anguish hard to keep going. Tramadol, 50mg a day, low does keeps it at check a night but then the burning starts early morning. in the torso, legs, and arms. have had MRIs to check liver etc. recently as had several liver cysts, one being 6.2, but the test showed nothing tone concerned about. Another MRI ordered from the groin area. UGH! Has been a miserable year from an illness result of a Moderna booster in 2023. The misery these shots have caused is now appearing and should never have touched this poison. CLUTCH541

3 ReactionsHi, I'm sorry to hear that you're having this, I'm sure it's frightening.
When they diagnosed you with SFN did they do a "sweat test?" it's sometimes called a sudomotor or Qsweat test. That test is for autonomic neuropathy which affects your autonomic nervous system. You can do a google search of everything the autonomic nervous system does but I do know that it controls you blood pressure and sometimes those episodes of lightheadedness can be related to that. I also have autonomic neuropathy and that was something my neurologist asked me to keep an eye on. Good luck, I hope you find the cause.

3 Reactions@laurenthewise1 hi thanks for commenting I had a 10 min consultation with a neurologist then I was discharged ! Unbelievable really and no I never had that test but I don’t sweat even when spinning or playing badminton perhaps it could be exactly what you are stating I think it is as I also have overactive bladder
@bevsfn I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t given better attention! This disease really needs a full work up because it could be associated with other medical conditions, including autoimmune diseases.
The sweat test is a measurement of your body’s sweat response to an electric stimulation. It’s not painful. Since the sweat response is an autonomic function I think that’s why they use it to diagnose autonomic neuropathy. There are medications they can give you to stabilize your blood pressure if you’re having lightheadedness and that’s found to be the cause. I hope they give you more time at your next appointment! Wishing you the best!

2 ReactionsI like R lipoic acid for snf neuropathy. Fish oil, and be careful of certain B vitamin, and I left an abusive situation, so I have naturally come along way healthwise after leaving my abuser after 10 years. Now I physically feel much better even though I still have Sjogrens disease, 100% heartblock, neuropathy and more. But the point is, sometimes any illness can be caused by an awful home life.
