Diagnosed in 2017, what’s next?
Hi friends, long story short, I was diagnosed this week (after a biopsy) or apocrine metaplasia in my right breast. This type has no chances of becoming cancer. Great news, right? Fast forward to pathology reviews since I recognized the term “metaplasia”, I was diagnosed with focal intestinal metaplasia in 2017. No mention of H-Pylori, just “focal intestinal metaplasia”. Since then, I’ve had zero follow ups. It’s been over 5 years since the upper endo and my colonoscopy.
I reached out to my doctor to get an appointment with a GI specialist to get this checked again. If left untreated for so long, does my risk of morphing again increase? I know google says so much, but I’d really like to hear from those of you who’ve also gone untreated for years. Thank you.
