When do you take dexamethasone before and after chemo?

I take 2 tablets (4 MG each) the night before, and the morning of, each chemo infusion. So 24 tablets for six infusions. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

The dexamethasone was administered to my husband at the infusion center right before the chemo infusion, and in the same IV used for the chemo. There was not an additional dose after chemo was administered.

Yes, that is very true. I was just answering the question about when people reading your post get dexamethasone in combination with chemo. Different patients are on different protocols, and different medical institutions have different procedures for administering it. The procedure followed for my husband is one of many.

I'm at the beginning but thankful for doctors and medicine. I have a wonderful wife along with my Church family. I think about your husband from time to and you to through this path of life

My husband did two pills the night before and that morning plus more in IV before chemo.
Twice now he's gotten hiccups from it! At night.

My plan called for 2 4mg tablets before chemo and after chemo and the same the next day the infusion nurse said not everyone is the same. There was only Zofran in my IV.
