DEXA scan shows "no significant change" after Evenity

How should we interpret this latest scan of my husband's showing no change from a year ago? Does it mean that the 11 months of Evenity helped to prevent more vertebral fractures, or should it have built stronger bone?

That would be my question as well. After my 4th annual Reclast infusion, I noticed minimal to no improvement in my DEXA scan results. I decided to stop and start HRT.
Did your husband's doctor have an answer to your question? My endocrinologist was seemingly happy with my results...

I read this in AI Assist: Changes in bone density from Evenity treatment can typically be detected on DEXA scans within about 12 months of starting the injections. However, some early changes in bone turnover markers may be seen as soon as two weeks after the first injection.

Has he been checked for hypercalciuria? If he is losing too much calcium in his urine, there isn’t enough to build new bone. Another factor could be dietary, i.e., not enough protein being consumed to build bone. Another factor could be taking a bisphosphonate medication like alendronate before Evenity.

What does your doctor say?

That would be my question as well. After my 4th annual Reclast infusion, I noticed minimal to no improvement in my DEXA scan results. I decided to stop and start HRT.

Has he been checked for hypercalciuria? If he is losing too much calcium in his urine, there isn’t enough to build new bone. Another factor could be dietary, i.e., not enough protein being consumed to build bone. Another factor could be taking a bisphosphonate medication like alendronate before Evenity.

@oopsiedaisy Thanks; calcium levels are normal, and he gets plenty protein. May have to wait till app't for doctor opinion.
