CTX score and Reclast infusion
I am a 77 year old female.
Completed Evenity on 6/24 and had one Reclast infusion on 7/1/24.
Bone density improved.
Current Rheumatologist recommended another round of Reclast on 7/25 which I postponed because CTX score was 200.
CTX score on 11/25 is 218.
Keith McCormick (DCM) recommended I wait till CTX score is 250 and above.
I am thinking of waiting for CTX score to rise before I do the next Reclast.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Sheila

I am interested in CTX scores and their importance - or not? I had Reclast last July; following 8 months of Fosamax, then 4 months of indecision as to whether or not to do Reclast! Had CTX and NTX couple months before Reclast (per my request). CTX was 52, NTX was normal range, perhaps reflecting the Fosamax? Some docs do not do these tests and/or do not consider them that important, I guess. I have read where my CTX score is considered too low for Reclast; but the med pros I saw (endo and rheumatologist) had no comment on it at all; consensus was to do the Reclast. Wish I was smart enough to get a medical degree so I could have some insight about treatment!
