CRPS warrior here. How can I tell I developed neuropathy.

Posted by mariatela @mariatela, 5 days ago

CRPS symptoms and neuropathy symptoms are so similar. I was diagnosed w CRPS in 2022 after a stroke, an ankle and wrist injury. Last night I had electroshocks all over my body including my face. I suspect I may have developed neuropathy. How do you confirm neuropathy when you also have CRPS.

mariatela, Praying for you.

Have you had your B12 checked? If it is low it can cause neuropathy symptoms. I have to get injections weekly.

If I'm not mistaken, (someone correct me please if I am wrong) I believe a nerve conduction study test on you
will diagnose if it's neuropathy.

Blessings & Prayers.....

@mariatela
Have you seen a neurologist for EMG/nerve conduction studies and skin punch biopsy for small fiber neuropathy? Have you had a neuropathy blood panel to check for deficiencies or toxicities?

What have you had imaged recently (MRIs or ultrasounds of head/spine, etc.)?

@mariatela, Here's some information from Mayo Clinic on the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral neuropathy - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/peripheral-neuropathy/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20352067

B12 were normal. That's a relief. Can carpal tunnel lead to neuropathy?
