CRPS and managing pain from stitches

Posted by geronimo87 @geronimo87, May 11 9:51pm

I have CRPS and recently had a surgery on my wrist and hand. I now have stitches and the pain related to the stitches is off the charts due to the hypersensitivity in my hand and wrist. Anytime I move my hand or wrist, it feels like I'm being stung by a bee. Has anyone else had this experience and, if so, how do you manage the pain?

I have the hypersensitivity from CRPS in both feet. I recently have foot surgery but they used staples on me and I was in a cast. The staples didn't bother me but the cast would bring me to tears. I had to be really careful moving my leg or my pain would skyrocket

That sounds awful. Casts are painful for me, too. I'm really sorry that you had to go through that.

The sad part is I'm looking at having to go through a bunion removal surgery soon. I still haven't completely recovered from my last surgeries on my foot.

That would concern me, too. When is the surgery?
