Chronic liver disease and liver lesion
Went to hospital with bad back pain and burning in my stomach.
I vomitted a lot and was diagnosed with gall stones.
The doc came in after my CT scans and said i have gallstones but he said....I am more worried about your liver....You have chronic liver disease and a large lesion on your liver.
I am not a heavy drinker and he said i need to have a biopsy.
The wheels turn slow and Friday is my follow up with primary doctor and referral.
I have had constant middle back pain for awhile but i don't know what all this means?
If the biopsy is benign and i just have liver disease...Then what happens next?
I am a 56 yr old male btw.
Any help on the subject i would appreciate.
Thank you

You'll want to definitely schedule with a Hepatologist. Blood tests, ultrasound, and other tests will be done. I have it also...cirrhosis and autoimmune PBS - on meds for some control/re-growth but I'm stage 3/4 - too late for mine to regenerate''' too scarred". I'm now completing a gazillion tests to get evaluated for a transplant at Jefferson Hosp in Philly. It's either get on it awhile or risk trying to get listed later when even that's too late. Good Luck!! Ask your PCP to refer you to a good Hepatologist ASAP!
