Crohn’s and inflammatory diet
My daughter has Crohn’s and has been in a flare for several years. She went to an orthopedist for severe back issues and he says her back is ok and the pain is caused by inflammation from the Crohn’sand that she really has to change her diet. I would think that issue should have already been discussed. Anyway, he also has some kind of issues similar to hers and he advised her about the diet change and told her everyone is different and that she will have to experiment to find out what foods are causing her inflammation to be so high (blood tests reflect this.) I would be interested to know how other Crohn’s people have changed their diet and have had success in decreasing their inflammation.

Seems like you should eliminate food groups one-by-one and see if she gets better or worse ... common ones to try are dairy, grains, vegetables, fruit/FODMAPs, eggs, all animal products. You can go one-by-one or you could eliminate all at once but that gets hard finding anything to eat. You can go as little as four days or as long as two weeks or a month to get a good signal for her response. Be sure to write things down as you go or you'll forget - things that seem obvious now may be a blur in 3 months when the holidays kick in, etc. Good luck to you and her.
I have Crohn's and my Gastroenterologist recommended a high fibre diet. I hope this helps her.
