COVID: Paxlovid and Orgovyx drug interaction

Posted by robertmizek @robertmizek, Sep 14 8:40pm

I tested positive for Covid and went to urgent care to get checked out and request a prescription for Paxlovid.

Guess what? There is a major Drug interaction between the two medication’s so they would not prescribe it. I’m hoping of course that I don’t need it but last time I had Covid I did. I guess I’ll have to wait until Monday to talk to my oncologist to see what he wants to do.

Hopefully you get the same symptoms my wife got 3 weeks ago. Had a stuffy nose, coughed and sneezed a little for 2 days and then it just let up. Almost no symptoms.

She made my meals, and we slept in the same king-size bed, and I didn’t get it.

Supposed to be so contagious, but it sure didn’t seem to be. I tested both of us and she had it and I didn’t for about six days.

Paxlovid wasn’t needed in this case, maybe not even yours!

Well it has to be a good thing they seen that before giving you the treatment. With our immune systems being what they are you didn't need added problems. Hoping you get past this quickly. Best to all.

For me, Erleada was the main conflict with Paxlovid. It conflicts with the other major COVID drug as well.

When I caught COVID in spring 2023, I had to go to the ER with tachycardia and a high fever. The ER doctor told me I was lucky I was 4x vaxxed and that because of that I'd soon be OK even without being able to take Paxo (he was correct).
