Constipation after right hemicolectomy?

Hello everyone!

I was diagnosed with NET after having my appendix removed in January. After additional scans and tests, the cancer metastasized to my liver. So, my doctors recommended a right hemicolectomy as well as microwave abalation to my Liver. I had the surgery on 5/22. The liver spots were removed, they also needed to remove my gallbladder due to where the spots were as well as the right part of my colon. I was discharged from the hospital today and cleared to eat a regular diet the morning after surgery.

What was your recovery like after a similar surgery? Did you experience any constipation? Did you find one thing helped best?

I had right hemicolectomy 12/30/24. I had had an appendectomy 60 years ago and the surgeon cleaned that up. I was discharged 2 days afterwards. I can now eat anything and I have no constipation. I do have mild pain where the appendix had been and where the anastomosis was. I also have burning sensation where the top of my incision is and across the waste. The nerve is damaged there. I am hopeful that this will go away at some point.
