Cold packs during chemo

Posted by dj12 @dj12, Feb 10 6:15am

I am starting chemo again. After the last rounds I developed neuropathy in my feet that never went away. This time I am trying cold packs on my feet during the chemo treatment. The cold packs supposedly can help prevent the neuropathy if worn while getting chemo. There seems to be some good results.
Has anyone done this and did you keep the packs on the entire time? I bought extra gel packs and a small cooler so I can keep the packs on my feet for a longer time.

This is the second post I’ve gotten from the Neuropathy group and I’m not sure why because I don’t follow it. But this is interesting anyway. I have a daughter with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. She has a chemo infusion every 3 weeks. I believe neuropathy has been a problem for her. I will ask her and if so pass this tip along.

@dj12 I don't have any experience with the cold packs but thought you might find this information on the topic helpful:
