Cialis (tadalafil): Is it doing any good & how long to take it?

Posted by peterj116 @peterj116, Oct 19 4:32pm

My physio recommended 5mg of Cialis per day.
Apparently it assists with repairing/preventing scar tissue from forming (and helps with incontinence?)

How do I know it's doing any good & how long will I need to take them for?
28 Cialis tablets is $200 but I was told that the generic tabs did the same thing. $50 for 28.
So I'm on them.
For how long & what does it even do?

I’m on them as they help with my flow of urine. In Florida, I purchased 30 generic tabs for $29

Thanks for that. Is there any information online about how it helps urine flow or how long to take them?
I don't see the surgeon for another 2 weeks.

I use free Goodrx.com coupons from the internet and get mine in Nevada for just under $20 for 30 5mg tablets (generic). But the deals seem to change month by month, so I always check before I get a prescription so I know where I want the provider to send the prescription. Once I have a prescription, so far multiple pharmacies have honored that same price for the refills until the prescription runs out as long as it's not some 1 month special rate. Also, although I have insurance, I don't use the insurance and just pay cash with the Goodrx coupon. Ditto for sildenafil, which I was using, but my doctor switched me to tadalafil after my recent NS RALP. I'm not a medical professional, but I think part of the reason for the switch is sildenafil clears out of the body in about 8 hours while tadalafil last until the next daily dose. I do think they're helping me with a generally increased blood flow to the penis. Since I can get it for less than $20 a month and I don't have any negative side effects from taking it, I'm going to continue taking it until my doctor tells me it's no longer indicated. However, since I was on sildenafil before my RALP, I suspect that may be never. Best wishes.

My urologist had prescribed them about two years ago for slow urine flow. Then my RO said to continue to take them as my urination became even more difficult due to the 40 sessions of radiation. I continue to take them along with flomax. One day I didn’t take them and I immediately had more difficulty urinating. So I’m on them until things normalize unless the Dr says to stop

It does help me my erections, but since it's only 5mg daily my doctor told me to take 4 tablets (3 extra tablets for a total of 20mg) on the days I want to try having sex. Even when I take 20mg I'm only 65% firmness on a good day, but hopefully it'll keep improving. If not I'll eventually discuss with my doctor what's next to try.

larryf954,
cialis increases blood flow. The increased blood flow protects the nerves which wither without blood supply. The 5mg may give you a twinge, but isn't enough and isn't intended to facilitate function. You might take it during radiation and during the several weeks after that radiation is thought to continue to affect cells.

Nope. Don't think 5mg is designed to affect erections. As far as I know, it's to assist with scar tissue. Or something.
Erections are a year away, as I understand.
