Abdomen involuntarily squeezed tightly
My upper abdomen is involuntarily squeezed tightly and my lower abdomen is severely bloated. Dealing with bloating is hard but still bearable. I can't deal with the involuntarily squeezed upper abdomen--it's really hard to take a full breath--can see the contracted muscle in the picture. I feel like my upper abdomen and chest are pulled in by unknown force. Does anyone know what doctor to see? I have been seeing GI, but I can't get much help.

I also have that?? Let’s keep in touch. I’m having a Splenic block next week. I’m praying it works to relax everything but of course, that doesn’t alleviate what’s causing it. Let’s keep in touch.
For the past two years I am not comfortable when sitting or lying down.
Fell like I’m being squeezed from inside .
Have had numerous tests, however, no one has been able to find out what is wrong.
I walk 3 miles a day, golf and play pickle ball.
Hate nighttime when I have to sit.
Never is any better whether I eat or not eat.
Drink or not drink. It is always the same.

1 ReactionHave you ever had any abdominal surgeries or endometriosis? It could be adhesions that's causing your tightness in the diaphragm and bloating of the lower belly. Adhesions can also cause you to develop SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth).

1 ReactionWhat's the background on this, Sophie? Did you have surgery; if so, how long ago and what type? Was it open or laparoscopic? Do the muscles in your back also hurt as if from a workout? And also, have you had any medical advice or diagnosis? I hope you get this sorted out and things don't get any worse!

2 Reactions@lasirvent have you gotten any relief ? Are you better?
@skim3737 I did have my appendix out when I was 13, I’m now 76. I have had numerous tests, however, I didn’t get the sibo test. Don’t have any symptoms of sibo. Maybe I should request it. Thanks so very much for your advice.
@smac1216
I have a similar sensation around my ribs/belly and one thing I read was MS can cause this, it's called the MS hug, just a thought, good luck.
