Hi @kcjc64,
Sounds like you should see your doctor as soon as possible, or go to the nearest walk-in clinic. What medication are you taking to treat your pancreatitis?
I'm also inviting fellow members @gman007 @jmbjar @joeallen @praymond234 and @mrsdeecee into this discussion to see if they have suggestions about pain relief until you can see your doctor and get your prescription refilled.
The only non-opioid I have been using that seems to reduce the severity of my pain is a supplement of anti-oxidants. I don't remember the exact name, but it contains vitamins A, C, D, E and selenium. I don't know if this provides any immediate relief, but over my first month I am having significantly fewer flares or days where my pain level reaches 8-10. That was happening 4-5 days every week for many hours of the day. As with anything you take, you should check it against other meds for interactions. I know that these type of suggestions really irritate me when my pain is at 9 and someone says this may help in a couple of weeks, but I just don't know any better suggestion.
Tumeric aka Curcumin Bioperine its a natural anti inflammatory works great
also have pancreatitis all disease is inflammatory My ankles and abs have
not swelled since I use tumeric Bioperine is black pepper helps in
absorption any drug store will carry this try to get clear capsules I
promise it will help you can read all about it on Pintrest good luck
The other alternative for anyone with pancreatitis is the emergency room and tell them you have chronic or recurring acute pancreatitis. They will likely check your enzymes and if warranted, admit you and take you off of anything by mouth for a few days to let your pancreas rest. Along the way, they will give you better pain medication than your doc probably provides.
Thank you @mrsdeecee and @gman007 for responding to my "paging" you and providing suggestions for @kcjc64.
