Welcome @trt55. I added your discussion to the Digestive Health group (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/digestive-gastrointestinal-problems/) so you can more easily connect with other members who have experience with hemorrhoids like @fotula @riflemanz64 @harper2018 @richman54660 @sallyw133 @nanny23 @pinelake77 @rashida and others. Hopefully they will have experiences to share that offer hope, help and healing.

TRT, you mentioned that you never recovered from hemorrhoidectomy surgery. Is this the source of constant pain?

@trt55 most people with hemorrhoids use an inflated “doughnut” ring to sit on to ease pressure and pain. Have you tried it? They are available in major drug stores and medical supplies stores.

I’m not sure. I’ve been back to surgeon 3 times with no help. My family doctor put me on gabapentin to see if it may help if there is pain from nerve damages.

I’ve tried everything. My surgeon actually said not to use a doughnut pillow. It can put extra pressure there.

Hello, I know this am older post but I was wondering if you found any solutions? My husband is dealing with chronic pain from hemorrhoids and we are struggling to find something that works.
Thank you

I’ve had hemorrhoids for over 50 years!!! What a pain in the butt, literally. Preparation H is greasy and smelly. I use essential oils and mix up my own potion. I take any kind of hand cream and mix in these oils: DigestZen, Marjoram, and Lemon. Then I put a small amount on a Tuck and put it up where the sun don’t shine, if you get my drift. It’s not a perfect solution but usually gives some relief. I use for several days until the flare up gets better. I hope this works for you!!
