Chronic Gastritis post Helicobacter infection

Posted by amerc @amerc, 4 days ago

I had helicobacter infection in 2020. First around of 7 day triple therapy did not quiet work so has another endoscopy in Sep 2022 and Helicobacter was still there and also mild chronic gastritis. This time I had a 14 day triple therapy (antibiotics + PPI). This has definitely cleared the helicobacter because I have had 2 further endoscopies in March 2023 and July 2024 both showing no helicobacter but mild chronic gastritis is still present. I have been taking pantoprazole 40mg once a day when I have flareups. My symptoms are pain in the upper middle abdominal during flare ups - sometimes sharp and mostly dull or burning.

Does anyone suffer from similar condition post successful helicobacter eradication?

Since our bodies natural tendency is to repair itself why has the gastritis not healed 2 years post successful helicobacter eradication?

Is there any pain medication for upper middle abdominal
