Chronic breast pain

Posted by reet1 @reet1, Jun 13 10:13pm

I am a 13 year breast cancer survivor. I had a double mastectomy, lattisumus flap surgery, chemo and radiation. My right breast was the cancerous breast and I have significant radiation scarring. I recently developed horrible pain, shooting, stabbing pain. It comes and goes but has been really bad the past few days. The doctor says it’s capsular contracture. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain so many years after surgery? If so, how did you manage it? Tha k you!!

I have heard of this from one friend who had her implants explanted because of this. She also was more than 10 years out from surgery.
I did a search in the breast cancer pages and found these two comments. I don’t know if they are helpful at all, but might have some informations for you

Did your doctor recommend any plan of action for you to address this?
