Anyone heard of resetting muscles to relieve chronic back/hip pain?
Has anyone heard of resetting the muscle group to relieve pain? I understand I will be getting injections in the hip muscles te release them and then I can retrain that muscles group.

This is a new idea for me - I am not sure what is meant by "resetting the muscle group", but it certainly is an intriguing idea. I do know that muscles can be stretched, relaxed and strengthened through a variety of stretches and exercises and through conscious modifications of use, posture etc.
Do you know if there is a name for this treatment? And what injections will be used? What sort of medical practitioner provides this service? PT, chiropractor, orthopedist, etc.
Many of us are waiting to hear about every possible avenue for relief from pain & stiffness.

@gcranor These discussions may be of interest to you. Myofascial release is a way to release the tight netting of fascial connective tissue to allow a muscle to move properly. There is also dry needling which is used to release the electric charge stored in a muscle that has a knot in it. My physical therapist has also used a Dolphin Electrical Stimulator which sends a current between 2 handheld devices which can also relieve muscle spasms and reduce pain. MFR is a very specialized training and harder to find, and if you find an MFR physical therapist, they likely will also know the traditional PT modalities. There is a provider search on the MFR website at https://www.mfrtherapists.com/

Sometimes injections are done because of trigger points. Is that what you will be doing? Do these alternate therapies sound promising?
Yes, it will be an injection.
Trigger point injections give by my pain doctor, it is done in a day surgery hospital.
