Who else has had Gem-Abraxane chemo regimen and for how long?
I am understanding this disease as I journey with my husband who had a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. No signs of active cancer activity anywhere other than pancreas; tumour ws stuck to a little wedge of the stomach and that wedge was removed. Jury is out on whether Stage 2B or Stage 4. He was on Folfirinox at first and that caused his CA-19 markers to rise post-surgery. He was switched to Gem-Abraxane and markers came down. It would be encouraging for us to know how many here is on that regime, how long it has been and how well everyone on it is doing. My husband has been on it 10 months and it is "long-term" until it no longer works.

I was on gem-abraxane-cis from early January this year and then off for 10 days as I caught Covid; continued on this until September and then dropped cisplatin and boy did I feel much better. Still continuing on strong with a normal tumor marker and faint side effects from the chemo. Wishing the same for your husband.
You did say lesions on your liver shrunk - did I remember correctly? My husband does not have Cistaplin and you are like him in that Gem-Abraxane has few side effects. Only the occasion bad tummy, fatigue and what he calls "brain fog" (like slightly intoxicated). I am so glad it is working for you - so you have been on it for almost a year? He has been on it for 8 months - first 4 months it was 3 weeks on, 1 week off; then onco spaced it out to fortnightly, and in the last 2 months it has been one treatment every 3 weeks. I asked onco if it could stretch to once a month and she said - we will see. PET scan every 2 months - I am just surprised my husband does not glow in the dark!
My husband has been on Gemcitabine and Abraxane, first with a trial drug and since August without it - for 2 and half years and he is Stage 4 metastasized. Keep your hope alive!

Wondering which trial drug your husband did with Gemzar?
I’m on 2 weeks then off 1 week; then on again and it just continues like this. I know my medical oncologist refers to past studies and how they worked with the chemo to figure out this schedule. I asked about getting chem just 1 month and was told it loses its effectiveness that way.
Yes, lesions on liver shrunk. I had 2 originally. The one that was about 1 cm originally shrunk so it is no longer seen in any diagnostics and the other was about 1.5 or 1.6 cm and that one was last 0.9 cm and then I did the MRIdean radiation on it. I have a CT next week to see what the results were.
It was pamrevulab. Study discontinued.

Was your husband being treated for any growths in the lungs?
I hope and pray that last one got zapped good and proper!
Thank you for sharing!
