I lost my sister to breast cancer. It matasized and,went into her arm, lymph nodes,  brain and other organs. I know having chemo was,the best,choice,for me as it prohibited radicals from spreading metastasized. I do know overall health is,a factor. Weight loss is,also. Yes, it can be appropriate to have chemo prior to surgery for not only<br>breast cancer, but other cancers as well such as colon. Is not necessarily<br>standard though, the toe of cancer along with known extent if disease is<br>considered as well.<br>

I believe they do chemo before surgery only if they need to shrink tumor before doing surgery. M M
