Anyone had a change of diagnosis after surgery?

hi in 2022 i was diagnosed with Triple negative breast cancer, 5cm tumour and lymph nodes . surgeon said "rare highly aggressive" . which i thought was nice . debated doing chemo first or mastectomy but doctor wanted chemo first . had "red devil" doxorubicin and paclitaxel for 6 months . then a mastectomy, followed by 3 weeks radiation . after mastectomy the tests showed only oestrogen positive cancer cells . no triple negative . doctor checked with original test and they said yes it was triple negative . oncologist said must had been a mistake .
after mastectomy found there was more lymph nodes effected . so now started taking exemestane .
so my question is has anyone had change of diagnose ? during treatment or cancer cells change to other type. ?

Yes my original biopsy showed estrogen positive but my pathology following surgery showed Estrogen negative.

My 1st biopsy had the HER2 low. When the tumor was removed and breast, it was biopsied and changed to HER 2+. I am 98% estrogen pos/o progesterone.
The results we have are sometimes so different.

Yes. 3 biopsies and 3 different results. Either way the treatment is fairly predictable for both positive or negative…at least until the final pathology after surgery.
Getting chemo before surgery is standard. Your treatment sounds proper coming from your average woman with breast cancer who’s done a ton of research.
I went straight into bilateral mastectomy and am headed for chemo next week….
Stay positive… reach out and be aware that barbiturates are immunosuppressive… green tea and walnuts…

chemo is not as bad as the thought of it . you get thru it . i slept a lot . just read, cold on feet/toes and hands while having treatment can stop or help with neuropathy . no one told me that .
i used baking sofa and water mouth gargle and never got any mouth ulcers , thank god .
the tablets for nausea worked really well . i was still hungry and wanted a lot of protein .
losing your hair is revolting , but you do get used to everything . i wish i had masectomy before chemo but doctor was firm on chemo first .
all the best with treatment , it's very well managed now . sending you a hug and all the best .
