Hi @sallik74 - the largest tumor of my colorectal cancer was at the cecum. Just for other readers' benefit, according to https://radiologyinplainenglish.com/what-is-suv-on-pet-scan/ , "SUV values greater then 2.5 raise concern for cancer although inflamed or infected tissues can also be above 2.5. Cancerous tissues can also have SUVs less then 2.5. A higher SUV is more concerning for cancer. But it’s important to remember that a high SUV value does not give us a diagnosis of cancer or anything else by itself. High SUV simply alerts us to a potential abnormality. The radiologist interpreting the scan will use all available information to arrive at the correct diagnosis."

Exactly what happened to me. The CT scan with contrast did not indicate a problem, but the PET scan did indicate a problem. June 2024 had a colon resection. It was a T1 and 2.5 cm.

How long did it take for recovery?
Did you have to follow up with chemo?
I was suppose to have a Colonoscopy last Friday but the prep did not completely clean me out. Go for consult Tuesday

It took a long time for full bowel recovery. I had loose stools for almost a year. I had a good six weeks after the surgery to feel well. I still have fatigue, but not as bad. My follow up colonoscopy was a two days of fasting and then the prep to totally clean me out.
I did not need chemo, because it did not go through the bowel. It was caught super early.

Wow that's a long time for recovery.
My prep didn't totally clean me out, so they canceled my colonoscopy for last Friday.
Go for consult tomorrow. I have stage 3a kidney disease so they have to be careful what I take for cleansing.
Please stay in touch.
It really has helped me be more @ ease.
PS: Do you remember what your SUV was on your PET scan? Mine is 4

What was your SUV uptake?
How was your surgery preformed?
I'm so nervous as I also have smoldering multiple myeloma since last September.
