Carcinoid Crisis Questions
My wife has well differentiated, grade 2 stage 4 NET to the terminal illeum (which was removed) w/ mets to the liver and pancreas which her most recent MRI showed as stable. She is receiving monthly Lanreotide injections. This morning her BP dropped down to 80/40 with pulse of 104. No complaints except "a little fatigue". (I did try talking her into ER). We did get her BP up to 110/60 and pulse 96 about an hour later after some salted french fries and water. No flushing to the face or other apparent symptoms. We did speak with her PCP who would like her in ER if any other episode. My question, could this possibly be a Carcinoid crisis? She has really had no "classic" triggering events like any medical procedures as in surgery, anesthesia, or chemo. No recent injuries or trauma and no med changes. Any input is greatly appreciated. She will be following up with her doctor on Monday, barring any other episodes.

Good morning, my symptoms for carcinoid tumors was diarrhea, and hot flashes, I had over 20 episodes daily. Great decision to get dr’s opinion. I’ve found that since I was diagnosed with NET’s and Carcinoid Syndrome, I tend to associate other ailments to that diagnosis, and many times it’s totally unrelated…
My symptoms were similar to Vinnie's. I did have low blood pressure once at 99/50, but I attribute that to Opioid pain killer that I took just before traveling and being admitted to hospital.
I am recovering from surgery for lung carcinoid tumor. I still have 3 other tumors they found post surgery that they are now watching for growth. I experienced facial flushing and my blood pressure was all over the place pre-surgery. Going back to your doctor is excellent idea, but so is keeping hydrated. I am horrible with that. 💕
Thank you so much, all. We did end up in ER, which they found she has sepsis and admitted her for IV antibiotics. Also did a CT scan which came back as "wall thickening in the proximal transverse colon suspicious for neoplasm" .
