Can we trust the generic osteoporosis meds?

I do not know much about this and I do not want to create unnecessary alarm. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will point out that there have been few problems in this area and no reason to worry.
The article that triggered my concern revealed issues about generic drugs not be tested properly. Apparently there was falsified data like required safety testing that was not actually conducted. The FDA seems to have only taken some half way action at this point. The focus was on generic viagra and similar drugs but I saw risendronate sodium listed as one of the drugs. That's Actonel and Atelvia which some on this group are using.
