Can osteoporosis shots trigger Female hormones?
I am on my 3rd month of Evenity shots. I couldn’t tolerate anything else as I should be a lab rat with all the side effects I experience. Can’t believe I made it to shots number 3! Anyway, something I’ve noticed, which I don’t know is related, is that my breasts are incredibly sore at about week 3. I am 60-years-old and was menopausal at age 49. I have Not felt the same since taking the Evenity shots, although there seems to be less side effects. The big one is that for 10 days after my shots, I feel Incredibly sleepy and half dead. But, I am Mostly concerned about the hormonal feelings!! I cannot have anything trigger my estrogen because I had a TIA in the past when I tried hormone replacement! I have a PFO (hole) in my heart and the molecules of estrogen passed through and gave me a TIA! What are your thoughts on Evenity and hormones?

I'm not a research scientist or endocrinologist and haven't seen anything specific about Evenity triggering estrogen issues. But the FDA's FAERS website fairs was created so that the public can see reports of adverse effects from drugs. Also the "ask a patient" website is where a lot of people report adverse effects. I'd add the caveat that a "reported adverse effect" is not necessarily a researched or documented adverse effect but simply one person's experience.
But when the preponderance of the evidence, like the nearly 200,000 adverse effects reported for Prolia, show a pattern of a commonly reported adverse effect, I pay attention because the FDA is minimally involved with post-approved drugs unless there is an overwhelming evidence of a problem. Those frequently get first public notice with class action lawsuits against the manufacturer of the drug. So I personally pay extra-special attention to newer drugs in case they show a pattern of negative side effects over time that hasn't yet been evidenced.
