Can numbness in shin be caused by compartment syndrome?

Can someone development numbness in shin that could be caused by compartment syndrome.

From some of my brief research on this, it sounds like this can be caused by a lot of bicycling and running.

I am almost 47 years old have bicycled over 190,000 miles over the past 35 years or so. Also, run on the side a bit from time to time......most of my runs are usually anywhere between 2-10 miles at time, although I have done some longer ones.

Been experiencing numbness in my right shin (none in my left) over the past three years or so. First doctor told me to take a break from exercising. Did that for a week and noticed little to no difference.

Eventually after more tests, MRI and EMG, my local medical facility says it's likely caused by bulging discs. Just looking for some opinions here to see if could still potentially be caused by something else.

I did have a blood clot in the same leg a couple years ago. I also get skin indentations that will stay for a few minutes after lifting my fingers off my right shin.

I have no pain, just numbness. The numbness also does NOT extend into my foot. I can move my foot and toes up and down just fine. I have heard others say that usually if something like this is caused by bulging discs that usually it also affects the foot.
